Hoosiers Winless Against Syracuse Since 1987 Championship Game

Call it a revenge tour that Syracuse Head Coach, Jim Boeheim, has been on since ‘87 but the Indiana Hoosiers can’t seem to beat the ‘Cuse.

Ever since the Orange lost to the Hoosiers in the 1987 National Championship, the Orange have beaten the Indiana Squad each of the five times that they have played since.

Now before I get some shit, yes I know this is a span of thirty plus years, but it is a neat stat to think about.

The last two matchups were both in 2013: first, a meeting in the Elite 8 that ended with a final score of 61 to 50. Michael Carter-Williams and Victor Oladipo were Syracuse and Indiana’s leading scorers, respectively.

Later that calendar year they met in the regular season, and Trevor Cooney led ‘Cuse past Noah Vonleh’s Hoosiers with a final score of 69-52.

It was great to see the Loud House filled with action last night in the Orange win. Yes, the team hasn’t looked that great this season but seeing Syracuse score 112 points, is something that gets ‘Cuse fans excited.
