Twitter Reacts to Marcus Smart Diving in the Preseason

Few things in life are as reliable as Marcus Smart giving full effort every time he suits up. A fan favorite for years, Marcus is a true embodiment of grit and determination.

It’s no surprise that Boston, a city built on the hard work of immigrants and the middle class, loves this type of player so much. Queue up the footage of Larry Bird mowing his own lawn, please.

Last night in the Celtics preseason game vs. Philadelphia, Marcus reminded us of his incredible motor when he dove on the floor after a loose ball.

This is what fans want to see in meaningful regular season and playoff games, but Marcus treats every game exactly the same.

Twitter user Conor Ryan (@ConorRyan_93) reacted to this play with an A+ meme:

With Kemba Walker missing the first portion of this upcoming season due to nagging knee injuries, Smart’s health is crucial to the Celtics success this year. Luckily for C’s fans, Smart has been fairly durable, averaging 68.2 games played in his first five seasons and 60 in a shortened season last year.

Whether you’re worried about Marcus diving on the floor or not, he won’t be changing his style of play anytime soon. Make sure you’re following him and the rest of his teammates with HoopSocial’s Boston Celtics social media directory!
