In just his third game as a Los Angeles Laker, Carmelo Anthony went off for 28 points; each one of them needed by the Lakers to squeeze out a three-point victory over a scrappy, young Grizzlies team.
During this tight contest, Melo passed Moses Malone on the all-time scoring list. He now finds himself ninth in the history of the association with 27,423 points.
Anthony said all the right things after the game, declining the opportunity to make a speech – much to the chagrin of his Lakers teammates.
