Few nicknames are as appropriate as “Point God” is for Suns guard Chris Paul. And at 36 years old, Paul is still showing us that he can lead an elite offensive unit.
Paul is currently averaging 10.5 assists per game, leading the NBA in that category. CP3 has led the NBA in assists four previous times in his career: 2008 & 2009 with New Orleans and 2014 & 2015 with the Clippers.
His Suns, the defending Western Conference champion, is also on a tear as of late. Following an underwhelming 1-3 start, Phoenix has quickly reminded us of their strength with a ten game winning streak.
It may be year 17 for the Point God, but the rest of the league would be wise to stay vigilant while he’s on the court.
